Audiovisual (A\V)

The Audio Visual Ministry Mission in First Central Baptist Church of Staten Island, New York is to spread the gospel of the True and Living God Throughout the World via Audio and Video Media.

“Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

Beautification

The goal of Beautification Ministry is to enhance the sanctuary and entire church with floral arrangements and we do light cleaning.  We keep Pastor aware of repairs that should be addressed. Beautification is a small ministry and we are always praying to increase our numbers.   We are a ministry of loving Christians and even though we are cleaning we are doing it for the glory of God.

We meet two Saturdays a month for about 2 hours each meeting.  At our first meeting we decorate in red and white in honor of Communion Sunday.  At our 2nd meeting we use decorations that are appropriate for that month such as Christmas, Black History month, Pastor's anniversary or we may just use decorations that are appropriate for the season of the year.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven:”   Matthew 5:16

Hospitality

We stand at the doors of FCBC for every Sunday service to welcome all visitors as well as FCBC family.  We are also present at the doors for all other occasions including funerals and revival.  The mission of the Hospitality Ministry is to always make people feel welcome on Sundays and all other occasions. Being on one accord, following Pastor’s vision and always being obedient to the Holy Spirit.

We meet one a month on the 1st Friday at 7pm.

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10.Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’ grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:9-10 9

Mass Choir

To glorify God and enhance the celebration of worship by preparing the congregation for God’s word, uplifting the spirits of God’s people and to give strength to daily living.

“Praise the Lord.  Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens.  Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him, with resounding cymbals.  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 150:1-6 (NIV)

Christian Education: New Members

New Member's Ministry is where you come after you have taken your first step in accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  We are responsible for coordinating the classes to be completed by new members on Sundays from 9:30am to 10:30am. There are seven classes, Church Doctrine, Salvation, Baptism, Communion, Holy Spirit, Stewardship, Tithes and Offering, which are taught in a continuous cycle.  After classes are completed, this ministry is also responsible for organizing and preparing new members for Baptism or Right Hand Fellowship at which time they become full members of First Central Baptist Church.  The New Member's Ministry believes that Christians are brand new people on the inside.  The Holy Spirit gives them new life, and they are not the same anymore.  They are not reformed, rehabilitated, or reeducated - they are not merely turning over a new leaf, but are beginning a new life under the Master.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 - NKJV

Pastor's Aide

Our mission is to assist and carry out the needs of our Pastor.  We also strive to make his surrounding as comfortable as possible, (his office and conference room).  We are to make ourselves available to Pastor, and his family as needed and necessary.    In addition to duties listed above, we are also responsible for keeping Pastor’s office, bathroom and conference room clean.  We make sure that his robes are cleaned and mended as necessary.  We ensure that his pantry is kept stocked with items to meet his personal needs, etc. Our ministry is important to First Central Baptist Church because it allows the other ministers to focus on other needs, while knowing that our Pastor and his family are being cared for by a ministry specifically set-up for that purpose.

We meet in Pastors office or in one of the classrooms in the lower level of the church the first Monday of each month at 7:00PM.

“Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only…whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him two.” James 1:22-25, Matthew 5:41.

Praise Dance

MIGHTY EXALTATION - ages 8 & above, PRIME TIME - ladies age 40 & above, SPIRIT OF DAVID - men & young men of all ages This is a faith ministry, we praise God in our dance because we are thanking Him for the promise that “He will never leave or forsake us”.  We bless the Lord with our dance, because He has granted us activity of our limbs, another day to lift up holy hands and to bow down to our King.  The Praise Dance Ministry is rooted in several Bible doctrines and is looking for those persons who want to seek, grow and make themselves available to kingdom work.  This is NOT a dance class!  We believe the weapons of our warfare are in our praise and we proclaim that strongholds will be broken in our lives and the lives of those who are in His presence when we dance.

“Therefore, I urge you my brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12: 1-2

Praise Ensemble

The Praise Ensemble Choir is a gathering of Christians who glorify God with songs and praises.   Our mission is to use our voices to reach lost souls.  The desire to love one another as God loves us is portrayed through songs, hymns and praises.  As we minister to the congregation, we unite in love and togetherness to achieve one fellowship.

We meet every Monday night at 6:30pm for rehearsal.

"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4:1-6 and Ephesians 5:19-21

Christian Education: Sunday School

The mission of First Central Baptist Church's Sunday School is to teach children and adults God's Holy Word; that they may learn about Him and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. We also strive to teach that God loved mankind so much that he gave His all, His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have eternal live.    We endeavor to enhance our Church's ministry and vision through the teaching of God's word and inviting others to accept the invitation to become part of the family of God.

Adults meet every Sunday at 9:30 in the church Sanctuary.  Children meet every Sunday in the lower church.

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing those from whom you learned, and that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:14-15.

Women's

It is the mission of the FCBC Women’s Ministry to enhance the present church structure and overall ministry vision by working diligently to be an example of Christian fellowship to the inside and outside of our church home.  We are Christian Women, striving to be supportive of both our Pastor and our church, as a result, we pray that our example will encourage others to join our mission and get to show and love Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior.

We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7pm.

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”  Proverbs 31:30
